Thai BFBC Boiler achieves +7 year lining lifetime with HASLE products
2021-04-06
Apr. 6, 2021 - A power plant in Thailand has surpassed a 7-year lining lifetime in their Bubbling Fluidized Bed Combustion Boiler (BFBC) using HASLE D39A.
The power plant has a production capacity of 37 MW and runs mainly on anthracite, coal and rice husk. Previously, they used a local castable with 60% alumina in the furnace wall, but never exceeded a disappointing lifetime of 2-3 years.
In 2013, HASLE suggested that they started lining the furnace wall with HASLE D39A instead, as they believe it would extend the lining lifetime significantly. In November 2013, the power plant installed HASLE D39A in their boiler, and it recently reached a +7-years lifetime and is still in good condition.
The customer is pleased with the significant reduction in maintenance costs, labor costs as well as in materials, and the significantly improved run factor is securing additional earnings on the boiler.
