Ningxia Binhe to increase silicon carbide output

Nov. 20, 2020 - Pingluo Binhe Silicon Carbide Products Co. Ltd (situated in Ningxia), the biggest black silicon carbide producer in China, announced that the output of silicon carbide this month would increase by more than 30%, from the quantity of 11,000 tons last month to 15,000 tons in November.

"We updated one of our furnaces in the past three months and the plant can be operated at full capacity since the beginning of this month. This month we expect to produce around 15,000 tons of silicon carbide, an increase of about 4,000 tons from the previous month," a source from the company said. And he added that due to the recovery in demand and increased prices of anthracite, they raised the silicon carbide price in the past week. In view of the rising trend of raw material prices and the tight supply situation, they planned to lift the price further and they estimated that the prices of China’s black silicon carbide would continue to rise in the coming week.
