Metso Outotec to provide bauxite grinding equipment for NALCO's Damanjodi alumina refinery

Jul. 6, 2021 - India’s National Aluminium Company (NALCO) has chosen Finnish mining operations and technology firm Metso Outotec to engineer and deliver a bauxite grinding package to its Damanjodi Alumina Refinery.

The project would be part of the Damanjodi alumina refinery’s fifth stream expansion project. The project will include designing bauxite silos as well as engineering and supplying a pair of 434 tph ball mills. Also included are apron feeders, agitators, slurry pumps, and instrumentation. Site advisory services will also be provided by Metso Outotec.

Metso Outotec did not give a precise number for the project, rather indicating that such undertakings cost between €12 million and €15 million.
