Elkem York receives the York County Manufacturer of the Year Award

Mar. 2, 2023 - The Elkem York manufacturing sites proudly receive the award for “York County Manufacturer of the Year” at the York County Regional Chamber’s Annual Awards Celebration held in Rock Hill, SC on the 16th of February.

Graham Berrill, Operations Director AMS and a group of Elkem colleagues from the Operations team attended the inaugural presentation where they received the award on behalf of Elkem Silicones USA Corp. The award was nominated by York County Economic Development and was presented by David Swenson, CEO.  

Elkem competed against more than 170 manufacturing companies located in York County which is a significant achievement based on the major growth of manufacturing in York County. Elkem were chosen based on our strong commitment and performance in the areas of our leadership, product innovation, expansion, and potential for sustained growth. Elkem opened the main manufacturing facility at Park Place Road in York, SC in 2012 and has continued to expand its operational footprint at this site with significant investment in people and manufacturing capabilities working closely with both the Regional Chamber of Commerce and York Economic Development teams. In 2022, Elkem opened the second site Elkem Silicones Advanced Specialties (ESAS) located less than 1 mile from the main York site.
