Tokyo Steel Co., Ltd. and ITO Co., Ltd to embark merger negotiation

Aug. 31 - 2017 - Tokyo Steel Co., Ltd. and ITO Corporation are negotiating about the merger of two companies, released by Tokyo steel.

It is reported that the two EAF steel makers have set up a new company in the northeastern region of Japan to promote the sales as a whole. With about 30 electric arc furnace steel plants and companies in Japan, they are facing strong competitive in the market, therefore, the two companies are aiming to enhance the competitiveness on the help of merger.

In recent years, many Japanese steel makers conduct combination to strengthen competitiveness and improve market share facing with competition from domestic and international.
