U.S. Steel may restart blast furnace in Indiana

Nov. 30, 2020 - It was learnt from market participants that United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) was ready to restart No.4 blast furnace of its Gary Works located in Indiana, but the schedule was waiting to be confirmed.

After U.S. Steel resumed its iron ore mining in Minnesota, the No.4 blast furnace of Gary Works may restart next month. However, it still depended on whether the No.4 blast furnace needs to be repaired fully or not, as well as the firm's order situation and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
