Refwin delegation visits Cremer Erzkontor’s processing plant in Hamm

Jun. 30, 2023 - Accompanied by Jenny Tong, the Product Manager of Cremer Erzkontor GmbH & Co. KG, Refwin delegation visited Cremer Erzkontor’s mineral products processing plant located in Hamm on June 20, and was warmly received by Tim Grottendieck, the General Manager of the plant.

Led by Tim, the Refwin delegation visited the storage workshop of refractory materials such as sintered magnesia and fused magnesia, and recycled refractory products such as magnesia carbon bricks, as well as the packaging production line of the Hamm factory.

According to reports, the Hamm plant is the largest grinding plant in Europe and can process 180,000 tons of mineral products per year. The magnesia warehouse alone covers an area of 10,000 square meters, and its sources include China, Brazil, the Netherlands, Australia, etc. Magnesia with different contents and origins are stored separately, and processed into different sizes according to customer requirements. At the same time, the factory is built along the canal, which greatly improves the logistics efficiency. For example, goods transported from the port of Rotterdam can arrive in only 1.5 days.

In fact, the Hamm factory has a history of more than 60 years, and was acquired by Cremer Erzkontor in 2020, becoming the second processing factory of Cremer Erzkontor, which has a history of more than 100 years. Another processing plant is located in Wesel, Germany, which was acquired by the company in 1991.
